The way some of my Lee molds look, I think they have migrant workers hand make them, using specs in Russian.

It's all in the tooling. You can buy lathe boring bars small enough to work in a hole dia. down to .050 and to a depth of .400. MSC catalog. From what I read here Tom seem to have all the work he wants, needs or can handle making flat nose bullet molds. That alone might be a good enough reason not to get into making pointed molds. Just my $00.02.

Oh man....don't get me started on the 41's now.

My wife finds out I ordered the 480 mold I'm liable to get a where it might hurt.

She finds out yesterday I bought my 3rd 500 smith mold from the NOE group buy and then this 480 and if I was to start on molds for the 41 I'd be doing alot of :kissarse:

It's bad enough, she let me buy my own Christmas, I knew where and what to order.
About an hour ago I got my Hornady LNL in, and I actually bribed her $150 in cash trade, I can go ahead and set up and use my Hornady......
She was already grumbling I bought my own Christmas, till I gave her $150 so she could get me something I don't know about......

Now I just need that 45 ACP shell plate.....

HAHAHAHAHAHA....Let's not even speak of the three separate Midway orders....I should write all this down before I order. Would have saved another 16 bucks in shipping!

BTW...I love the 41. Have 4 revolvers, a JDJ and a TC barrel. FANTASTIC caliber!

Not sure if you meant me to answer but it is for a 375-JDJ. This mold throws a 270-ish grain .376 bullet. I'm tired of buying jacketed bullets for this barrel.

I had him make a mold this past summer for me for my 400 Whelen. He cut both a 320 grain and 400 grain in the same mold block for me. I got it in brass and it is a thing of beauty and casts great. The turn around I believe was three weeks. That's pretty darn quick for a custom mold. I cannot say enough good about Accurate Molds.

Nice looking mold Tar, you'll have to post some pics of the boolits when you get them cast.

What size aluminum block did you order? I got mine in the 2.35" I believe.

It's the 1.80" Mold in aluminum. Knowing I was also going to get a 41 cal mold, I figured I had better go with aluminum to keep the total cost down. Those brass molds sure are pretty though!

Yea...I'll post some after I get them cast. Perhaps this Sunday I'll get some time to run off some. Need to run down some 50/50 bar solder. Called Machine & Welding but they want $18 a bar for it. Heck....saw it online for 8 bucks I believe.

    Lee moulds

I agree that Lee moulds are made by people from below the Rio Grande and that they have Russian plans to follow. I sent several back for not being correct. I'm not speaking of standard ones but the custom ones that you have about a years wait for.
The last time I had any business with them they said the moulds were made by cherries. The moulds made by cherries are fine if you receive one that is the first or so mould. The more that they cut the less quality you receive when the cherry begins to fail. I purchased my first Accurate mould almost 18 months ago and will only purchase from him from now on. Later David
