My mould was in the post today. Another beauty! Thanks to all!
Doc
invoiced and payment sent! I swear I won't be slow joining next time!
thanks Miha and thanks 45 2.1 !!!
Man really hoping mine shows up soon, I keep checking the mailbox everyday hoping it will be there. I think knowing they were shipped out and waiting for them is worse than the wait for them to go to the build process.
The shank was spec'd at 0.428". This design was a Lee GB first, then BRP also took it up. The shank was spec'd at Hornadys max size (0.428") which has worked fine for the Hornady and Lyman gas checks I have. Since this came up, I took a look at Hornady's versus Gator's maximum shank specs......... If you look..... they vary 0.002" to 0.003" on the two sizes I compared (357 and 45). I also have had a tight problem with the Hornady 416 checks I use on 41 mag, etc and have to taper expand them to fit different shanks. Who would have thought there would be that much difference????????? Maybe a consensus is needed for future shank sizes on a boolit.
Mine is casting at .430 also with WW alloy. Maybe a lead tin alloy would cast a little smaller as I am getting 463 band diameter also. Also I have a freechex III you might could get to fit .430 shanks with the right thickness aluminum. Just a thought.
So will the hornady .45 cal GC's work or should we use the 50 CAL ?
Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end.
I haven't cast the mold yet, so I don't know what the shank size is on mine. I have other molds, NEI, RCBS, Lee and Lyman that have slightly oversize shanks. For these I either use a GC seater, make a flaring tool for the gas checks or make a gas check tool for the correct size. I have to flare Hornady checks for the 41 and 45 caliber anyway.
Good day gents......just curious if anyone in Canada has had theirs arrive yet? Not complaining....typical Canada Post. Just waiting with great anticipation. Thanks
I'm still waiting
haven't received any info on shipping, or Tracking.
I hope Mihec has kept all that info for when CP LOSES the moulds in the mail.

If numbers killed I'd hunt with a Calculator!
Get yourself a piece of cold rolled or good 7/16" steel rod about 3" long........ make a 3/8" or less long taper on a dead flat end so the small end of the taper just goes into the very tip top of the gas check..... then tap with a very light hammer till it bottoms out. Try it on the GC shank of your boolit. Work on it until it expands the inside of the GC and goes on the boolit properly.
I have purchased 7 molds from Mihec and have never had tracking info sent to me. Pretty sure that's not part of his process.

Just got a notice in the mail for a package pick up at the post office.....Thumbs up. Here's hoping it's arrived.
Mine came today. Beautiful mold Miha. Thank you. Boolits cast today had GC shanks of .425 to a maximun of .428 using indoor range lead. Most are .425.
