Noticed the thread about someones classic 30-40 krag Ross blown up when using a max load of 5744 and a 210 grain boolit.
I was just going to try some loads with that boolit. The lyman 49 lists that same
load as most accurate.
I have 5744, but also 2400, unique, trail boss and some slow stuff.
Gun is a rechambered handi rifle. When loading the rifle, the cartridge will be pointed down being a break action, so powder would often be up toward the boolit.
Should I try the 5744, or is there a better powder (maybe safer) to try first?
