    Gas checks and the #358156

I am picking up a Lyman mould for the #358156 bullet for my .357 Magnum and .38-44 revolvers. Both sized at .358 and this will be my first time casting and sizing bullets with gas checks. Do you prefer a Lyman or Hornady and will the standard 35 cal gas checks work?

Hornady is my choice. Standard .35 cal. gas checks fit either .35 cal. rifle or pistol bullets equally well.

I also chose Hornady when I bought GC's.
They worked out very well on my 30 cal (.3085) Boolits.

I now make my own GC's.

I was under the impression that Hornaday made Lyman checks. No?? That 358156 mold is a dandy. Good shooter!!! I have it in single cavity. Bought it in 1973. Just used in the night before last.

    Gator Gas Checks

I use Gator gas checks on all my bullets I cast for. They fit tight on my 357, 41 and 44 mag. Blammer on here sells them at a good price. I had trouble with Lyman gas checks on my 44's fitting loose after sizeing. Changed to Gator gas checks and never looked back.
