    Thumbs up WC820 (n) w/cast in 357 mag rifle & 44 mag pistol

I thought you guys might like to see the Chrony data with WC820 (n) in 357 mag Rossi M92 20" rifle and Ruger SBH 7 1/2" 44 mag pistol. All the rounds were loaded using the listed cavities in a Lee Auto Disk measure. Primers were CCI Small Pistol and Large Pistol. Cases were all R-P.

    357 mag 158 gr cast SWC plain base @ .358" w/LLA lube:

    .82cc/11.8 grs = 1567 fps
.88cc/12.8 grs = 1623 fps (good accuracy + no leading, so I stopped here)

    44 mag 240 gr cast SWC plain base @ .430" w/LLA & NRA 50/50 lube:

    .95cc/13.7 grs = 810 fps
    1.02cc/14.7 grs = 961 fps
    1.09cc/15.7 grs = 1095 fps
    1.18cc/17.3 grs = 1163 fps (best accuracy)
    1.26cc/18.4 grs = 1226 fps
1.36cc/19.7 grs = 1308 fps (way too much recoil for me)

44 mag 265 gr Hornady FP:

    1.18cc/17.3 grs = 1118 fps (good accuracy)

    At $10 a lb in my door, I'm liking WC820 (n).

    Good deal

I got it at www.gibrass.com I ordered 2, 8 lb jugs so the $20-per-order Hazmat fee was $10 per jug. Two jugs + shipping and Hazmat was $159.68 in my door. I wish I'd ordered three jugs.

I love that powder. I started with it about 5yrs ago in a 44 mag, then in a 357. Now I use it in just about everything, 32-20, 32H&R, 45 colt, 30-06, 8MM, 35 Whelen, 30-30, 7.5 Swiss, and try it in every new rifle I acquire from the get go. Does very well in all and is very cheap shooting. I also get mine from Jeff. I'm down to 3 1/2 jugs right now, time to get a couple other guys together at the club and send another order in for 6 jugs. No haz met on 6 jugs but I see the price went up $1 a # since I last ordered. Still a heck of a deal.

Jr, in the 30-30 I use 15 gr behind either Ly 311291 or Seaco #315. Don't have a working speed-o-meter, just know it shoots purty little groups for me at a 100yds out of an old Ted williams lever. I use WC820 more or less like 2400 in rifle cast loads and seem to get about the same results.
