Jim, losing a loved one is never easy and you cannot "prepare" for it. The void left is just seemingly overwhelming at times. Spend time with her, tell her you love her(she can hear you), and just be there for her. My Mother went to be with the Lord because of brain tumors that took her quickly. One day she was healthy and two months later we were burying our beloved Mother. Remember all the good times and share them with your siblings. They need you just as much as you need them. Don't be afraid to cry for it will help you cope with the pain. We have seen all of our parents go through the veil of life into eternity. It is part of living just like being born. We all must pass through that portal. It is a sad time but really should be a joyous one. Each of us hopes for long pain free lifes but that is not going to be the case with most of us. It is important to live while we are here in a way that brings honor to those things/people that you value. Those that do can die with a confident smile knowing they have led a life well lived. Give your Mother a big hug from all of us here and tell her that lots of folks are praying. May God give you and yours His peace through this time of unsettlement.

Thanks, guys. I just got home from the lodge. I wasn't doing well with this and Janet told me to go have one with my friends and talk to somebody. Oddly enough, I get more responses here than I do from people I'm sitting around the table with. That tells me where my real friends are.

Jim, I lost my Ma a couple years back. I was an orphan at 50! She apreciated certain things and I still think I should call her when I run across something I think she would like to hear. I will keep you and her in prayer.

Oh, Dear God, Jim, ol' buddy, my thoughts and prayers to you and yours. This is as inevitable as it is untimely. Hang in there, man and always remember, we are all here for you.

I'm sorry to hear this news Jim. I know it is not unexpected but it is still hard to deal with. I'll be keeping you and your family in my daily thoughts and prayers.

Jim, our condolences for your Mothers problems. My wife's momma passed the same year we were married. My Mother passed just before Thanksgiving of 1996. It's never easy, nor is it supposed to be. Take solace in the fact that 95 is really beating the odds, especially if she was still living on her own. My families thoughts and prayers go out to you, Janet, and yours. as always.

All the sympathy to you and yours. I lost mine at a young age but losing my in-laws within 5 years of each other is almost as hard as your own parents. Trust in the man upstairs an\d call on any of us if you need to talk or whatever. All the best, Norman.

Sorry to hear it, Jim. At our age, dealing with loss is a constant battle. You are fortunate to have had her around for as long as you did. Hang in there.

My mom died in her 60's (ALS) and we lost Dad @ 81 years young. Jim, be thankful that you have had such a good relationship with her this long. Our transition to the next life is as natural as breathing, and as inevitable. We will be praying for you and the family over the next few weeks.
