I got a call from my brother today. He went to see Moma this morning and found her in the bed in what appeared to be a catatonic state. Her eyes were glassed over.
He called EMS and they transported her to the ER. She's still in ER at this time (5:48 PM). A cat scan revealed a stroke sometime in the last year. She can't pick her head up and her legs are useless. Her speech is slurred and she is semi- coherent.
My brother is making arrangements to get her in a nursing home when she's discharged, although she's likely to be in the hospital several days.
If she makes it, she'll be 95 in January. Honestly, I don't think she will.
I have plans to go to SC the last week of this month. I just hope I can get down there in time to see her before she dies.
Fellas, I 'preciate y'all bein' there for me. This ain't easy to digest.
