The one we have a drawing of.

OPTION 2 (which I'm leaning more and more towards every day). A few of us slug our rifles, send the throat slugs to 45 2.1 and have him design a bullet that will work in the 6.8 SPC.

We had another one drop out, this puts us below the minimum Miha requires to cut the moulds. Since we're gonna be waiting a while (AGAIN!), anybody else for getting 45 2.1 to design a proper bullet while we wait?

I'm still in, but I'm wondering if this group buy will ever happen.

From all the reading I've done Morme is the only one who has tested any of these designs.
He tends to like this one, so thats good enough for me.

Wel the only assurance we have is Morme's tests. All they prove is the bullet did well in HIS gun, remember - each gun is a law unto itself.

The one we have a drawing of has 3 bands instead of 2 . Basically the same but could offer better or worse performance depending on the gun.

If we have 45 2.1 design a bullet we would have the assurance that the bullet was designed SPECIFICALLY for the 6.8 S.P.C. and the throats typically found on them, not a bullet designed a couple decades before the 6.8 S.P.C. even existed. To me, this is the best idea.

The second best is to get a set of swaging dies and tubing jacket forming dies. With those I could make any weight I wanted and with different punches even different nose shapes. The downside is that will cost almost 10 times as much.

I think I would prefer a bullet designed by 45 2.1 just for the 6.8.

Got a reply back from Miha this morning. He has blocks and other stuff ready. If all goes well he should machine them in 3 weeks.

    Ben-WSU, got you down.

I'm going to get up with Miha and see when we should stop taking orders. Until then I won't add any more to the list. If you want one go ahead and post your broken up email and we'll add you if there's time. I just don't want anyone to be expecting one when there isn't enough cut.

Am most assuredly still in ... Miha's molds are WAY nicer than the Lee. Lookin' forward to sending monies.

Ok, I'm confused at this point, do we have a drawing of what this boolit is going to look like? Was the decision to go with the design by 45 2.1 or?

    Took care of Ed.

Moonie, in the first post is a drawing of the boolit we will get. By the way did you ever get your 6.8 mould design cut? If so how did it shoot?

I'll bite on this one. Mihec molds I've bought have all been super. If it drops below the minimum, I'm good for another one. I'm sure I can find a profitable swap on the 6.8 forums should the "worst" case occur.
