    ruger question

I just got done stoning polishing my ruger oldarmy revolver, and i must say that this style action is far simpilar then the new style blackhawk.
My question,,,,,,,,,is the lockwork the same in a old model 3 screw blackhawk,as whats in the old army?

Same as 3 screw. DO NOT REMOVE METAL TO REDUCE CREEP!
Polish without changing angles, I use a hard ceramic stone to just smooth any tool marks.

I kept the same angle on the hammer notch, but reduced it,a bit. It had a ledge on it,that you could set a size 10 boot on!!!! Way to much creep,,now its much much nicer. The pull weight was never a problem, thats fine just the way it sits.

A secret is to break the sharp edge with a fine stone.
Avoid the trigger falling into the half cock notch by keeping the trigger spring strong enough.
I soft solder shim stock on the hammer to move the trigger closer to the drop off. I use a copper iron to keep heat from doing anything to hammer hardness. Very low temp solder. Then the brass shim can be filed easy to get rid of all creep without having a dangerous gun.
My Old Army has zero creep and a 30 oz trigger.
If the shim ever falls off, you are still back to normal. I have not had one fall off yet. Works great on Colts.
