I included the mullingar mark this one is stamped made in Ireland. Never seen the ****et mark before, it was a hefty piece and three collectable spoons. 14$ Cdn for 3 pounds not bad up here and much cheaper then solder.
    Be well
Perhaps it could be the Royal ****et Pewter Company. This is all I could find in a quick search.

Neat. Thanks for the info. Seems like solid info alot of tin comes from that area.
Seen on the TV kids digging it out of the ground by hand, all they get goes to microsoft.

I've never gone all the way through this thread before, but I got through the first 13 pages and now I have an almost addict like urge to get out and find some more.

Even if they were at the price I'm willing to pay per pound, I couldn't melt any of them down. I'm as big of an aviation junkie as I am a shooting/reloading junkie. Probably going to go back and buy a couple to feed both.

I wouldn't melt them down either. Another thing to look for.
Those collectable spoons were a new one for me. Pewter anniversary plates are the best finds, that and little plate/paperweights are what I find most.
Looked every page, can't remember them all. Lots of primo info!!!!!
    Happy hunting! !!

My best cost to weight ratio on scrap pewter has always come from beat up tea sets.

My latest find from a Goodwill I rarely visit. Paid $6.30 for both plates. The 1983 weighs 4.5lbs and the 1981 is 3lb5oz. I looked up the artist and even though he has past away, he is renowned for his work in pewter. I don't know how much the glass will take off but, I'm pretty sure I did ok. And even the wife said she didn't want them so, I'm good to go.

Limited edition numbered stuff! I'd make sure it's not worth money before melting.

Yeah more would have been nice, but I'm pleased! They weighed about 5.5oz each, so a lb for $2.07!

I just finished reading this thread from the beginning, 60 pages in a day was massive but I had nothing better to do since I am home from work with the flu. i have been casting bullets and using pewter for tin a couple of years but only recently found the castboolit forum. most of my pewter is in ingot form but I will try to get pictures of the hallmarks on what i haven't melted yet for reference.

This one was super hard to see. Not sure if it's going to show up in the pic or not. Candle stick is about 5" high, about 5 ounces. Paid 74 cents for it.Click image for larger version.
