    Thanks.

My finds in the last couple days. The duck with the scarf didn't have any marks on it. I'm sure it's not pewter and silver plated copper from what I've researched. A $2 mistake.

Are most "pewter" figurines actually pewter? Saw this come across Craigslist and thought about making a offer on the lot.

Got a Restoration Hardware vertical tissue that has a sticker that says pewter.
Also has another that says Made in India.
    $3.00. Did I do good?

A sticker that says pewter is usually not pewter, especially the stuff from India or China.

The Poole candlestick looks like ley pewter. It'll have some lead in it but still good for our use. The german zinn is some really good stuff.

It really depends... those look like they probably are. Figure about 2 ounces each.

Buddy from work gave me some lead he had to balance a small plane when solo. Dead soft.

Also, he gave me a coffee urn that was damaged, dented with a broken wooden leg. This thing looks to be pewter and has no mark
I can see. And it's painted black

Just realized that I haven't hunted for pewter in a few months. Time to get back at it.

Been reading this thread and finding nothing at thrift stores back home in Georgia. Have to work in Michigan this week and look what I find in the very first goodwill I walk into:

4 pound tea set (not sure what the plastic handle weighs) for $13. 4 oz candle stick after removing weight for $2.

Something like 3.50 a pound and 8 a pound for the candle stick. Does anybody have info about these hallmarks?

I've no information for you, just advice. Get a valuation on the tea set. That's a nice looking set.

Good score! Can't help with the hallmarks. I came across a few of those trays, the centers were some kind of material that looked like bakelite with a fiber cloth. The outer rims yielded a generous amount of pewter, like to find more of them. I dug deep to find them buried in with a bunch of cheap serving trays in a thrift store, the only pewter in the store, $2 & $3 each. It was a lesson for me, dig deep where others haven't looked.

It’s not a set. It’s 4 mismatched pieces sold together.

International Silver Compay (INSICO) is a manufacturer from Connecticut. They started circa 1940 and are still in business. If you look through the thread you will see several different marks they’ve used over the years.

No information on the B and M mark. That is a weighted piece though and most of the weight is filler inside the base. See pictures of a similar item on the first page. Be sure to take the weight material out before you melt it.

Edit: LOL! You said you already removed the weight. Reading is fundamental.

Been there too, I soaked a chunk in some acid and it turned black, acid won't have any effects on pewter. I do believe it has tin but there is something else in the mix, I tossed it in the trash and went back to only buying pewter marked items, guess I could have made sinkers out of it. I have bought Disney frames marked pewter and they were the real deal but these cheap over seas knock offs I now stay clear of.
