    45 colt ? in a 454 SRH

How well does the 45 colt work out in the 454 SRH as far as accuracy and the use of cast boolits. IMHO it is overkill to use a 454 for deer size game unless your concentrating on long range. I have a BH Bisley in 45 colt a ton of brass and cast boolits, but the SRH apeals to me more than the bis. Dont want to go to the expense of shooting 454 brass.

We shoot tons in my buddie's Super Redhawk. That's why I decided to go blackhawk in .45LC/.45 ACP instead.

I do it all the time in my 454 SRH
Just like shooting 38's in a 357 mag

Clean the cyclined and all is good

Is there a problem with accuracy as there is a lot more free travle in the cylinder before engageing the the forceing cone? The SRH is a lot simpler to scope and change springs than BH bis.

    Not that I have found

    I may have been lucky
But I have actualy found my plinking 45 colt load ( for the SRH ) more accurate than anything I have been able to work up in 454 cases

Top end loads ( Up to 30K+ PSI loads ) in 45 colt cases are slightly less accurate than loads to the same velosity in 454 cases

No problems. The .45 is just a little less accurate. Good for deer though.

Of course, have you not followed posts? Is it too bad for hunting?

I typo'ed my post above, I meant that I haven't found the 45 to be less accurate
