    High Standard Crusader 45ACP

My son attended a "Friends of the NRA" dinner tonight and won a High Standard Crusader 1911 45ACP. It only cost him $10 for a drawing ticket. I am proud for him, but have to admit, I haven't read or heard much about High Standard for many years.

Anybody have any experience with this 1911?

My friend has one of the small carry ones - made in phillipines as I recall - shoots real good and 100% reliable - we did work on the trigger some as it was a little stiff.

Think this is the one Jerry has

Upset Roger when Jerry outshot his Les Baer 1911 with it. Course that could be the shooter but I never know.

High Standard is made in Texas USA. The do import interarms rifles. They do make very fineand accurate target 45's and 22 pistols

There are TWO High Standard's for some reason, a Phillipine made 45 copy and the REAL High Standard. The Texas folks have some of the old High Standard guns and some of the AMT line and seem to be real well made. The Crusader doesn't ring a bell with me but the Phillipine H/S marked 1911's are good guns too.
