I finally broke down and got an electric casting pot. Nothing fancy just a Lee Magnum melter. I am amazed at the difference that a little temperature control makes. I also bought a Lee Lead Hardness tester. I know many of you claim that is not required, but what it did for me was to confirm that my alloy (mostly wheel weights) was more than hard enough for the way I'm driving it and it allows me to look for other reasons for the leading I'm getting in my barrel. So it mean's I'm not chasing the wrong things wasting time and material. Anyway the experiments will continue.
