    HS6 45acp an lead

Has any one used hs6 for their 45acp? I have a bunch and would like to use it up. I would be using a 200gr lead booit.

I also have a couple of lbs of IMR7625. Looking for lite target loads for both.

    Is IMR-7625 the same as SR-7625? http://stevespages.com/451p_1_200.html
    SR-7625 From 4.5 grains to 6.8 grains

I was given a 5# can of SR and works pretty good in my Sig P220 45. Groups about the same as loads using Bullseye & 231.

I just dug out my load notes , as I remembered I had

    From 1999
I loaded 8.0 gr and a 200 gr cast boolit , with a Win LP primer in mixed cases ( I just looked , Hodgdon now lists 8.2 as the start load )
No velosity listed , so I never checked
Accurcy was listed as OK ( I was never a paper puncher )
    No notes as to problems

HS 6 works good in 40 S&W loads. I believe it is the same as WW 540. But better check that out with Hodgdon first.

HS6 will work fine in a 45 especially if you are shooting IDPA or other disciplines that have a power factor. If you are shooting bullseye, there are a lot of other powders that are faster burning and will be cheaper to use. Generally, the slower the powder the less the felt recoil if the velocity is the same. Regarding accuracy, one never knows which is the most accurate in a given gun, and likely there will be several powders that are such a close tie that it is a waste of time to try to find the best because the end results may very well go back and forth keeping you from making up your mind.
