The top weighed 150 lbs. As best I could weigh the base it was also 150 lbs. I didn't weigh the shelves but estimate about 75- maybe 80 lbs

When I finished I thought the bare pine base looked plain so I took some thin cedar I had and basically wrapped it. That's why it looks like the base protrudes out farther than the top.

I made some metal pieces to put under the bottom of the bench to give the nuts something to cinch up to. The wood should not compress causing the presses to come loose.

That's about it for now. I have 2 wide sycamore slabs and some thick poplar that will be my next bench for my Sizers and maybe shotgun presses.

And about the big max presses... the one with the bent handle is my pride and joy. It belonged to Fred Huntington of RCBS. I haven't mounted the other 2 I have (and no- they aren't for sale) i had a 550 on the left side of the bench but, well, my idea of the perfect progressive leader isn't a 550. It isn't a 1050, either, but that is another story. I am just glad my buddy was here to get it out of the yard when I threw it out the back door!

I am thinking about a co-ax for the void on the left side of the bench. I already have a red, white, and blue summit, a 4-hole CH4D, and PW metalmatic on another bench.

I see I got my $25 stove for powder coating, my 40 lb Magma, and a bucket or 2 of ingots in the picture. A fella has to have his priorities!

when I saw the low serial number I suspected it had some extra value.

My bench is made from office cubicle desks that were corner units. It’s 33 in tall and set up so I can sit in a tall wheeled chair and operate my presses. Runs the length of a 12 ft wall with deep shelving under and narrower shelving over it. I’ve got a Bair 12/20 ga, dillon 550, an old pacific O press and two lyman T-2 turrets on it.

This is functional at this point, but I will be adding shelves and doors soon. Lighting will be getting an upgrade too.

New house meant building a new bench.
Think it turned out well for an afternoon project.

Top came from an old dresser that wasn't worth moving. All wood, except the legs, was what I had, or free. Measures 64in wide by 20in deep at 39in tall. Kept the mid shelf recessed to clear knees. And kept an inch overhang on the front of top.
In the basement next to the gas boiler I installed myself, toasty warm and cool in summer.

    LED lighting:
    4ft 2 bulb fixture overhead @ 3000k warm.
Rebuilt Ikea halogen desk lamp, now led with dimmer. Also have led.strip lights on all presses. And a 12v DC connector in front of the mount. Repurposed PC power supply for the LED and heater cartridges in the sizers.

Small desk to the left is for brass prep and priming. Casting is done in garage.

Just got the louvered wall panels delivered yesterday, so think it's kinda completed for now. Even the old stool got reupholstered and coooshy padding.

Is the power supply for the lights?

Lyman case prep guts into DIY hidden bench top.
Remove the tool heads and put a blank cover in the hole for a smooth work area.

I have a dehumidifier just in the room I built for myself in the basement, so no moisture issues.
