    I'll play

I thought I had posted to this thread, but apparently not. Perhaps there was another similiar thread. Anyhow, here are a few of my .32's

My 32-20 Marlin of mid 80's vintage

Don't see any pics of my Marlin .32 H&R mag on my photobucket acct., when I get around to it I will take one and add to this post.

My favorites are the two Bisley single sixes, one with a scope to accomodate my aged eyes, the other as it came from Ruger. But I am kinda fond of the short barrel one too. Heck, I like all guns in .32 cal.

How does that model 631 shoot for ya? One of these days, I'll find one of those to add to the collection...

Ya gotta love a .32 gun for fun: a German Walther .32/7.65mm PP w/lanyard loop.

    NoZombies Taurus 761

Is it a 32 Long or 32 H&R? Yours is only the third one I've seen. What do you feed it?

The 761 is a magnum. Prior to making the 761, they also made the 76 that was chambered for the .32 long. Similarly, I have both a model 74, and a model 741. (although the 74 is quite a bit older, and blued, and the 741 is much newer and stainless.)

    Taurus 761

That's why my model 76 is chambered in 32 Long, it doesn't have that 1 on the end of the model number. Ok, yours is the first 761 that I know of and I've seen 2 Taurus 76's.

Makes sense. I know there are some around, but they come up for sale far less frequently than say, S&W model 16's. I think people get them and hold onto them. there have been 2 or 3 that have sold on GB in the last few years, and I've seen a number of people write about them in the same time.

I managed to snag my 761 at a local auction for peanuts, probably because I was the only guy who knew what it was.

Now, if you want a really hard to find gun, try the Rossi M239:

I know of 2 others in the world, and that's after 3 years of active searching. One of them is in pakistan.

I have one of those 761's, it looks just like NoZombies' one. I really like it.

He keeps posting those pics of that Rossi 239 but he won't sell it to me! I have never seen another one either, and man would I like to find one!

Heck, I would even give up some molds for that one I think!

Here's my 32/20 Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector. It's dead on zero wise at 25 yards with 115 grain cast boolits and achieves over 900fps with fairly mild loads. I neck size for it like a rifle cartridge and it will often shoot into 2 inches at 25 yards. I've also got the original factory grips for it, but these modified K Frame target grips fit my hand much better.

    Scharf--

I have a 5"-barrelled variant of the S&W M&P, and mine performs just as yours does--right to the sights at 25 yards with 115-120 grain castings at 875-900 FPS (6.0 grains of SR-4756). Also like you, I changed out the stocks to enable easier shooting.

    9.3X62AL,

What fun they are. That mid size frame really soaks up what little recoil the 32/20 produces and that 115 grain bullet seems to get to distant targets quickly. They also turn a few heads at the range.

Were I still living in one of the Rocky mountain States, it would definitely be my jackrabbit gun of choice.

Here's my other 32. It's an S&W 31-1 in 32 S&W Long with lots of holster wear, but it's mechanically perfect with a new looking bore and cylinders. Like its stablemate, it is spot on at 25 yards with a 98 grain SWC. I bought it for my son to use when he was young. Its small and narrow sights and its small frame make it a bit more difficult to shoot accurately, but intrinsically, it is as accurate as any of my other Smiths.

I thought I had already posted this on this thread, but my idea of a 32 reaches full bloom in my "Model 616 - the gun S&W should have made but never will." Here's the link to the thread where I document the progress on building it and a couple of pix that Dale53 took on its initial outing. I'm the guy in camo jacket wearing a silly grin.

Froggie, I lust in my heart for such a critter.

Actually, that 31-1 of Scharf's would suit me right to the ground, too. I can almost manage an I/J frame S&W or D-frame Colt if I can attach Pachmayr neoprenes of some sort. The 31-1 is a "J", so unmodded Pachs would bolt up just fine. I have a Colt Pocket Positive x 6" in 32 SWL, original nickel, S/N sequence in the 11,000-block. It shoots wonderfully with my carved-out Pach Pres stocks in place, but the sights challenge my 58-year-old eyes somewhat. I would REALLY like a 4" D/A in 32 Long--one of these days when available cash and available gun occur together, I'll swoop on it. This is one of the few items I want for myself these days, most of my time & effort is headed toward 'smithing projects or shooting what I have.

A 4-5/8" Single Six opened up to 32 SWL wouldn't be bad, either........

We can hope that S&W gets off their fat apathy and actually builds a 616 for the 327 Federal. I would be ON one of those so fast it ain't credible.
