I had to buy another .32 Magnum. It's a rule, at least two of the same caliber.

Unfortunately Taurus no longer produces this pistol. It's a Model 731, 3 inch, six shot .32 Magnum. I found it on Gunbroker (seller Hunter's Outlet) who has several for sale. I like this one, it doesn't have the "politically correct" safety lock in the lockwork.

I just watched a movie called "Anthropoid" which was about the assassination of the #3 man in the German Army in Czechoslovakia during WWII. All of the Czechs involved used those Colt 1908's in 32 ACP to shoot the Germans. During the killing of the General their Sten Guns completely malfunctioned and were useless. so they finished him off with the 32's.

When they finally got pinned down in a Church they held the German Army off for 6 hours with several Sten Guns, and after they ran out of ammo they continued with the 1908's. In the end they all saved one round for themselves.

I have also criticized the .32 ACP for it's inherent weakness, however in Europe it was considered the goto Police round and was loaded a lot hotter than the .380. I might add that most of the Walther PP's of that era were made in .32 ACP.

It is a good example of the saying,,, "Any gun will do,,, if you will do."

Well, I'm back in the .32 Auto game. I sold my .32's a couple of years ago to pay off bills but kept my molds, brass, and boolits. Since that time, I have felt like my arsenal has a yawning chasm in it that the .380's just can't fill. Stopped in a pawn shop today and they had a LNIB Kel-Tec P32 under the glass for $200.00 so I layawayed it. I'm looking forward to bailing it out. Anybody here try Clays in this cartridge?

WW-231 has done most of the work for me in 32 ACP. Look around for some posts made by Outpost 75 on this site for his 32 ACP "full strength" loadings in the caliber. Some of those may not be appropriate for the Kel-Tec, but we need to keep in mind that the Europeans expect 900 FPS from their 7.65 Brownings using 71-73 grain FMJs. USA-loaded 32 ACP ammo barely reaches 800 FPS, if that.

California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.

For me it is a pair of H&R 732/733 2.5 inch barrels.

Blackie has been shooting great from the start. Nickie today showed major improvement with larger bullets today. Looks like I need to get another Lee .314 sizing die and ease it out to .315 or so.

That top hole 2 bullets went through. But it was that nice group centered on the bullseye that had my attention. Not quite there yet, but moving in the right direction.

I have an Accurate mold which drops a 75 grain flat point slug for the .32 Auto. The last Kel-Tec I had, I was loading it to .945 with 2.1 grains of Titewad for 850 fps. This load was warm for sure, probably due to the super fast powder. It would really squirm when you fired it. I'm planning to use more reasonable loads this time around, maybe 820 fps or so. 2.3 grains Bullseye would probably do it. It's a full charge for sure, but one I fired quite a bit from my previous guns. Everything I have read indicates that even sedate American FMJ .32 Auto ammo easily achieves 10-13" of penetration in gelatin so this should be optimum for such a small pistol and cartridge.

I have a Kel-tec but load it to factory spec's. I'd probably stay away from anything very warm unless your shooting a steel frame pistol.

Don't worry, I practice with mild loads. According to the gel tests I have read, .32 Auto FMJ consistently penetrates 10-14", on par with most larger catridges. Most JHP loads are pretty miserable, 6" is about average. I would rather carry a knife or pepperspray as those would be more likely to stop a bad guy.

Well six inches of penetration would still reach the vitals from the front and back though.

Six inches would be considered inadequate, as human skin accounts for a couple of inches of gelatin penetration supposedly all by itself due to its elastic nature. It is harder to initially pierce human skin backed by muscle, fat or bone than a gel block. I would not care for that much even if somehow guaranteed a frontal shot that hits no bone, which of course we are not.

Also better to have a loading that will penetrate sufficiently from all angles and 32 FMJ will do so.
