    PRVI brass

Has anyone tried PRVI brass made in Serbia.

I am looking for brass to reload for 6.5 Mannlicher-Schoenauer. Only two companies who make brass the other is Norma.

Do a search for PRVI brass, there are a bunch of guys using it, me included. I've used it in at least 6 milsurps, without a problem. And in my 22 Khornet. I personally like it better than most of the new Rem or Win brass I have gotten lately. There have been a few with some issues, but in my personal use it has been great.

I just bought 100 rounds of 6.5x54 brass at Graf & sons for my son as a birthday present.

Hornady used Prvi brass for a run of 6.5x54 ammunition for Graf & sons.

Unfortunately, his 1903 rifle needs some trigger work before it is ready for the field or range.

Anyone know of a gunsmith who does work on set triggers?

I use it in 6.5X55 Swede and 7.5X55 Swiss...no problems.

    Try these guys

    http://www.newenglandcustomgun.com/

They have a lot of stuff for the old Mannlichers, etc.

Good luck - I am VERY jealous of your son! WIsh I had bought one of these back about 1986 when I saw one I could have afforded! ALWAYS wanted one...

You are definitely correct. Hornady reloads the special ammo for Graf & Sons using PRVI brass imported from Serbia.

I talked with the technician from Hornady and he said the brass was of good quality.

Did you have to anneal the brass before using?

    PRVI Partizan brass is EXCELLENT!

You do not have to anneal before using. I always resize the new stuff from them just because sometimes it gets dinged in transportation.

It's great BOXER primed brass, no crimp.

I've purchased new Prvi for my mosin (7.72X54R) and my 303 Brit Enfield.

    Their headstamp is PPU

.223/5.56 brass is nice also so I can see the rest of their line being very good.
I also have their .224 FMJ bullets and .308 168gn FMJHP match bullets works great in my AR and M1 Garand.

Good stuff. Headstamp looks like "nny" and is actually the cyrillic (Russian alphabet)
characters for PPU. Graf brand brass is made by Prvi, good stuff, too.

Top quality brass. Use it for many calibers all the time. Grafs is the place to get it and they are a sponsor as well. Good Folks !

    Brass

I have used the 8mm Lebel brass (from Graf & Sons) to form .41 Swiss. It is good to reform, fire forms nicely, reloads well and lasts for many reloads. Also have used 8mm Mauser brass from them also. I like it. Safeshot

NNY (Prvi) is good stuff, as mentioned above, the flash holes are indeed tighter. In the past, about 10 years ago they had some serious/major problems with “off centre” primer pockets. Especially with pistol/revolver brass (9mm, .357Mag and .45ACP) and the 223's in particular. They fixed it and i like to use these cases a great deal. The price and quality are to my personal satisfaction.

Note: When reloading high pressured ammo they still have some problems with primer pocket enlargement after reloading a few times. The brass seems to be a bit “softer”, a little extra care is advised on that particular point. But otherwise, absolutely go for it.

If the flash holes are a bit tight, what would be wrong with using my RCBS Primer Pocket Swager on them? I have just ordered 100 new cases in 8mm Mauser for my 24/47.

Oops, I see I am confusing primer pockets and flash holes,

I would not use the Primer Pocket Swager but a Fash Hole Reamer (nearly every reloading brand has them).

Having said that, i would not buy such a tool unless you encounter tight flash holes at the first place, it can be bought fast enough. You know if have this problem when the decaper pin gets stuck or goes not lightly in or out.
