    I found one of those kits in a gun shop close to home. It was new and priced at $100, I didn't know if that was a good price and also good kit.

    Well, I wouldn't say a great price, a bit high imo. On the other hand is a good kit and you can finish it the way you want. i.e. brown the barrel, stain and then tru-oil the wood etc. Take your time and you'll have a great shooting Kentucky pistol.

    I paid less than that for mine but I was the right place at the right time, can't say that happens very often.
