Lymann 30 cal 190 gc silh

I just bought a Lyman 30 cal 190 silh gas check mould #2660644. The mold does not come with the lube groves on the nose like the catalog picture shows. Does this change have any affect on how it will perform compared to the original design? Also if they change a mold why do they not update their catalog pictures especially online?
I keep trying to stay afloat but can't help from shooting holes in my own boat.

Checked the Lyman site, but there is no picture for 311644. The number you listed would be for a 6.5 mold if it was a good number.

Don't know what effect not having the nose grooves will do.

cdet69, Lyman omitted the nose lube grooves almost 10 yrs. ago, possibly to save production costs. Some of their newer literature shows the "improved" design changes. As to whether the newer nose profile will materially affect accuracy, I don't know (I had the older #311644), but I'd bet it wouldn't. Btw, I've been by CP 68 many times and live less than 2 miles from CP 87.

I have two of them that have the nose grooves. Both cast the noses at .299"-.300" which is a good thing in a way as I can open them to what I need.

Pass by CP 87 all the time to go grocery shopping. Small world first time anyone has recognized my signature.
