If I understand things correctly, this group buy needs 13 more sales. Is that right?
Thanks Jim.
It would be nice if some of the older GBs like this one, could be grandfathered in, or at least chipped away at. If they keep getting pushed to the end, I could see it taking a very long time. Something like an 80/20 split of 30 or more vs less than 30 would at least give me some hope. I'm frankly running out of runway.
I'm willing to wait a little longer to see if there's more interest.
Eric
Eric,
All of the group buys currently listed on NOE's website will be run.
NOE's group buy policy that explains the scheduling process is here.
http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=156593
The list of group buys and the amount of orders for each is here.
http://noebulletmolds.com/orders/catalog/schedule.php
The tab at the bottom of the window shows the group buys with less than 30 orders.
If we can generate more interest in this group buy, we can move the production and delivery date closer.
not necessarily true
the last update from Swede lays it out that if other group buys get more pledges, and new group buys get more, some GB's will continue to linger at the bottom.
theoretically, some may NEVER be run
We just have to hope for the best, and decide how badly we need the moulds
Swede posted this on another thread:
We have also looked at setting up our own shop but with the margins that are involved that's not going to happen. There is a very good reason that most of the big mould makers build moulds as a side line. A bank would look at our P&L statement and laugh.
all I can say is, unless we take donations to get NOE to quit their day jobs, we will have to just sit and wait...
Remember, Mihec quit HIS day job and went into mould making full time..... look how that has affected his schedule.... (from what I can tell, it hasn't, but I would think he can finally get a good night's sleep once in awhile)

Jim,
It doesn't look like the bump I gave this thread two weeks ago, generated any more interest. I'm going to have to back out of this group buy. Please refund my prepayment.
Sorry, I just don't have any more runway on this one.

I do this full time and have for about a year and a half.
"We have also looked at setting up our own shop but with the margins that are involved that's not going to happen. There is a very good reason that most of the big mould makers build moulds as a side line. A bank would look at our P&L statement and laugh."
After getting laughed out the door of the bank I hawked every thing I own and put it all on the line.
Leased a mill and got it set up and running in my own shop and I'm working every minute to get a inventory of mould blocks and sprue plates. As soon as I do we will be producing moulds
"theoretically, some may NEVER be run"
Not taking on any new group buys it will happen!
No theory about it.
One comes off the top of the list and one goes on the bottom.
I'm working to get the list down as fast as I can.
Not taking on any new buys has been about one of the hardest things I have had to do
Its one heck of a way to run a business but it needs to get under control.
So if any one needs to get out of a buy all I can say is I'm very sorry I let you down and we will miss you as a customer.

Nice to see I was corrected by Jim and Swede.
from my count, there is only 21 to go into the shop, and the backlog is completely taken care of....
I'm still not completely sure on how Swede and the guys are going to run any future GB's though.
this will prove interesting!
Good luck to NOE!
A great product at a great price!
