Funny thing these bullets were 168gr. Sierra Game Kings with the open tips. The older kind. And they were pulled from 30-06 cases a few years ago. Still shot well!

I had a 700PSS in .308 that shot just like that. My load was Sierra 168gr HPBT Match over W748.

    Good shooting guys.

EMC45, It looks like it would be hard to beat the IMR-4895 load that you used, good shooting.

Plus one for Geraldo's 748 Winchester load and I have a box of shells laying on the bench waiting to be tried using a Sierra 168grain BTHP match bullet and IMR4064.

My target load in my 700 SPS-V is 42.3 grains of H-4895 with the 168 grain MK in R-P brass. Others have also reported good results with H-4895 and IMR-4895 in the 43.0 - 43.5 grains area.

You made an excellent purchase and should be very happy with your new Remington.

You either bought a seriously good rifle and got a quality scope and mounts for free or you bought a quality scope and mounts and got a seriously good rifle for free. Gotta get lucky every now and then, well done.

Thanks FFD! I like it. I think it may stick around....It has some stiff competition though with all the Mosins, Mausers and other Milsurp beaters...

It should easily set the pace amongst those.

You got a Great rifle at a great price!
I have the same exact setup including the scope. I shoot 155 grain Hornady Amax bullets over 45 grains of N540.
Fast is fine, but accuracy is final!
    Will kill for food!
