    LED Lights

This buy is for an Xm-L LED flashlight, a pair of batteries to power it, and a charger.

Options on the buy are a pressure switch and universal weapon mount designed to mount to barrel of a shotgun.

    Basic Details:

The body of the light is an ultrafire C1 made of anodized aluminum with a removable clip and lanyard. The switch is in the tailcap and is of the standard click design.
Dimensions are: 5 1/3 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide at the head. slight under 1 inch at the tail.

The driver is set up for 2.8 Amps which is a good trade off between light and heat production and yields roughly 850 lumens at the emitter. (This will vary slightly from one to the next but should not vary by more than 3%).

The driver is set for 3 modes: Low (10%), Medium (45%) and High (100%) drive and battery life will vary with use depending on mode. On high, the batteries will last between 40 minutes and 1 hour, on Medium, about 2.4-3 hours, and on low somewhere in excess of 10 hours. To change modes, depress the switch half way while the light is on. The driver does have mode memory so it will start in whatever mode it was last set to. These lights will get hot if driven on high for the full discharge of the battery and it is recommended that you use medium or low for the bulk of your work and high only when needed to keep heat down. Mine after 20 minutes was 136F on the head of the lamp and 114 on the body.

Batteries for these lights are 18650 lithium cells that operate at a nominal 3.7 Volts. (Charge to 4.2V). They get their name from their form factor 18mm diameter by 650mm long. They contain a protection circuit that prevents overcharge or over-discharge to protect the cells from damage. Cutoffs are 4.2V and 2.8v respectively. The light only uses a single battery so by providing 2 you have one in the light and one charging at any given time.

    Weapons Mount:

This is an additional tailcap with a pressure switch and a barrel clamp mount and wrench designed for barrel mounting on shotguns or rifles. The pressure switch cable is a pigtail that extends to 21 inches total.

Delivery Time: Because I have to order the bodies and batteries from hong kong, delivery time will run 3-4 weeks from the close of the buy. Driver parts and LEDs, I am purchasing stateside and will begin assembly and testing as funds become available to do so.

    Costs:

Price is $46 including stateside shipping per Light kit
    Weapons mount is $14
Pressure switch alone can be ordered for $5
    additional batteries $3 each

Up to 2 lights and weapons mounts will fit in a single small flat rate box so for orders of 2 deduct $5 from the total price.

Orders can be paid by paypal to wiljen(AT)embarqmail.com or by MO to

I am sending payment tomorrow, Will. I have a question on the spare battery, do you advocate leaving it in the charger or charging it and storing it?

Either will work as the lithium cells don't drain while sitting like the Nimh cells can. The charger has an auto-cutoff when the reach full charge so leaving it in the charger wont hurt it either. I tend to charge mine and store them with the lights and only charge as needed.

Lithiums can burn if overcharged so I'm always a bit leary of leaving them on the charger for an extended time even with the protection circuits in the cell and the charger. (I know my own luck and brace accordingly).

Price is $46 including stateside shipping per Light kit
add a Pressure switch for $5
add one additional battery $3 each (3 batteries total) (over 24 hours on low run time)
