    Gun shop find

I found an Ideal single cavity mold at a local shop this afternoon--it's a 311316, and though it was a little rusty it cleaned up nicely when I got it home. The best part? I was only out five bucks for my efforts! Anybody familiar with this mold? It looks like it will cast a bullet of about 125g, flat nosed and ready for a gas check. I'll know the actual weight when I cast with it next week, but maybe someone has some experience with it. Thanks, Pete

Yes, a very good 3030 boolit.

Mine drops at 115 gr and I loaded it for a full tilt load in my 30-06. Makes for a great varmint boolit that way!

I use that boolit for 327 Federal Magnum. My mold drops a .314 boolit, I size to .313 for 32-20 and 327, size to .309 or .310 for 30-30 plinker loads. It works well in 32-20 without the gas check. One of the better boolits around.

It is considered a premium 32-20 mold and some of the best rave about it as the GC choice. I search 32-20 alot and it pops up constantly as a good 30 cal light bullet as well.

Excellent GC'd design usefull in a wide range of .30/.31 cartridges from the .32 H&R up through the .30/.31 milsurps. A great bullet in the .30 Carbine if it feeds. Mine weigh in at 118 gr cast of WWs + 2% tin and fully dressed.

I think the 311316 is about the same as a 311008 but with a gas check. Lyman still makes the 311008.

I've been shooting that design from my 32-20 for a lot of years. The GC gives me more velocity with no leading and weighs in at 118 grains lubed and checked.

This is a really FUN boolit to shoot.

Great in my .32-20 and .303 Brits. Tertle was shooting it out of his .308 the other weekend when we were rabbiting together.

I have cast thousands of these for use in 30-30s. It makes a great short range plinker over 17 grains of 2400. It has also seen service in my 30-06, 30-40, and 32-20. It was originally designed as a 32-20 boolet. I used it for chickens and pigs in lever action silhouette shooting.
