Finally making some good progress. Got a few orders going out this week. Please check in with my vendor "work order list" for shipping details.

    http://castboolits.gunloads.com/show...ork-Order-List

Things are progressing very nicely and dies are looking great. It feels good to get some more of these orders out the door, feels like a bit of weight lifted from my shoulders. That is precisely what I am doing right now, I'm getting some of the "easier" and "quicker" orders out the door at the moment. Orders like the final 22 cal point form dies and 40 cal orders go pretty quick for me and allow me to take a good portion out of my back order list.

I realize I have those of you that have been waiting longer then some of the orders I'm currently shipping, bare with me just a little while longer, I promise I am doing what I must to complete all orders with the highest degree of quality. Those of you patiently waiting on the 30 cals especially, you have been very patient and I greatly appreciate it. Getting a few of these orders out of my hair and off my shoulders has greatly improved my outlook, I'm am starting to see the light again and it is this improved motivation I need to conquer the 30 cal dies and make them every bit as good as I know they are going to be.

Thank you all again for your patience. Please keep posted to this thread and my vendor thread for details.

If you are expecting dies soon and still in need of making a final payment, do get a hold of me now regarding the status of your order.

    Brian

p.s. rest assured 30 cal customers, I'm not put everyone ahead of you. I'm just getting a few quick and easy backorders off my plate so I can focus on the 30 cal challenges with a fresh, clear and happy mind.

Didn't you hear? Swaging is a dead art!

On a serious note, I still get sad I can't afford your dies every time i see a post from you or hear about your dies.

Yes I heard, I loved the T-Rex doing push ups!!!

On a serious note then.... your really going to be sad when I post pics of some of the new dies coming out!

The boat tail 30 cal dies will be awesome and will match the Sierra 175 grain match kings perfectly as well as the 155 Palma bullets. The 9mm dies will be ready soon and will match the Hornady XTP perfectly. I got a proto type 50 BMG bullet that matches the 750 grain A-Max with aluminum tip and all yet made from scrap 45-70 brass. Got some new boat tails 6.5 dies and a lot of jackets. A new 204 die ready to test the 22lr jackets at 4,000+ fps. A set of 277 and 284 to test out....... busy busy, busy.

I'll be happy to provide you anything you wish or can afford. There is certainly worse things we could spend out hobby money on!

    Good shooting and swage on!

I've been out of the office all week in preparation for upcoming 50 cal match this weekend. I'll return to work on Monday the 19th.

Just to confirm all dies currently on order are in my possession, finished with machine work, heat treated and nitrided awaiting their turn for me to finish polishing and final assembly. I'll get to them all just as soon as I can.

Thanks for your patience and support.

    Good shooting and swage on!

Preparation for the 50 cal match took over a weeks worth of time away from my work schedule. I am happy to say the shoot went well and now that it has passed all my available time will be devoted to getting back on schedule and finishing up my orders.

As for the 50 cal match, it went well. I won the 600yrd prone shoot both in group size and score with 10 shots, no sighters, all in the ten ring for a nice 8" group. That was with challenging 20mph+ wind too. The 1000yrd match was a bit more challenging, didn't win but dad and I had fun. He shot a 11.75" five shot group and bested me by a couple inches.

Now to get back to work getting you all your new dies.

    Brian

p.s. I was shooting 750 grain Hornady A-Max bullets at 2525 FPS. Wish I had some of my own 50 cal bullets ready for the shoot but those are still a ways out.

Dang, Brian! I was hoping that you were shooting something of your own creation. I was looking forward to an announcement.
What a way to showcase a new die offering.

I'm very happy that you got to go and shoot with your dad. My dad never was much of a gun person, and I never got to share in my passion with him. However, I do love shooting with my son, and I bet your dad enjoyed it every bit as much as you did. Welcome back to reality.

Five 30 cal die sets sent this week. Should have another batch of them ready to ship in the next week or two. I think I only have eight 30 cal die sets remaining on my work order list. I'll probably assemble them all and get them out very soon.

After 30 cal dies are done I'll put together 10 or so 22 cal point form dies then work on any of the misc. calibers that remain at top of list. Probably get a few 40 cals in there as well.

The dies are coming together very well and I'm going to try to get as many as I can out the door by the 4th of July.

    Thanks

I apologize in advance, I only read 6-7 pages of this thread. If I missed what I am about to ask - sorry.
I'm looking for heavy for caliber 6.5mm and 358 rifle dies. I'm thinking 160-170gr VLD style for the 6.5 and 280-320gr for the 358. Is this possible?? Is it possible with cases or should copper tubing be better?? I have been toying with this idea since 3 months before the Ammo and Brass Trader web site shut down. Basically, if it take 6-10 months for such a design - no big deal.

If I can use spent brass for either, let me know what cals to start scrounging.

Looks like I got four .500 cal dies ahead of you as well as 44 additional orders. Going as fast as I can.

I'm working on #2012-107 that is top of my list at the moment, a .458 cal set. I expect to have the only two .458 cal sets on my list finished soon.

    Thanks

I broke down the orders on my list to include grouping them according to the caliber ordered. This should help both the customer and myself to get a better idea of how soon their order might be ready. The calibers where not listed in any sort of priority list yet the invoice numbers in each caliber listing is in order of priority. I don't have all orders broke down and listed yet by caliber, there are still some misc. orders to categorize so don't worry if your order isn't sorted yet by caliber, I'll get to it. You should see your invoice number on the work order list.

Hang in there guys, it is coming together fairly quickly for me now. Today I started on the CH-40 cal dies and expect to have all those on the list shipped in the up coming week.

Thank you for your patience and support.

One quick word.... I'm in the process of acquiring a new 22 cal barrel to test some bullets in. A 6.5x55 necked down to 22 cal in a 28" barrel with a 12 twist. Guy I'm getting it from says he is shooting 77 grain Sierras at 4000 fps! Hornady actually shows load data for a 22-6mm caliber. This would be nearly identical to the 22x55. The 22x55 has the advantage of very good Lupua brass at a good price. We shall see if I can keep the 22lr jackets together out of this one! Probably make some 80 grain+ bullets from 22 mag cases sized down to 22 cal. A mentor of mine actually shoots a 22-284! That would smoke them out for sure. I might get this barrel nitride processed to save the life of it a bit, we shall see.

Some new targets to test some bullets with. I didn't draw any big game tags this year so I made my own targets.

I'll set them up at various distances at the shooting spot in the woods I frequent. Also got some steel gongs to put behind vitals.

I had to buy an old school overhead projector, found some images I liked on line and printed them black and white on transparency film. Worked perfect, matter of fact my 7 year old girls traced the outline onto the FRB boards. I used three 4x8' sheets to make the 7 cut outs.

To give you a bit of scale, the Elk stands 4' from nose to tip of horns.
