Back from hunting trip. Had a good time, we let them all go Had plenty of shots.

    Now back to work.

Curently working on copper tubing jacket dies as well as several other customer back orders.

My girls start school full time in two weeks. That should free up a lot of time for me to get caught up on orders.

Thanks to all for your support and patience.

    Good shooting and Swage On!

Brian, how much for the 45 cal HP from the 40 cal brass? Do I need a swage die also?
Might as well get this ordered while I'm waiting for the .224 from the 22LR brass.

Girls go back to school next week. That will free up a bit of time for me to finish back orders. Summer was busy for sure.

Fished up the 30 cal copper tubing die set for a patient customer and now I'm starting work on a few 30 cal dies. Also got a 9mm to put together for a customer as well as a .312 as well as a few more orders I'm sure.

My plan is to have all orders with dies I currently have in stock (ready to be assembled) sent out by end of Sept. I also hope to have derim dies and core molds sent out for 22 cal customers by end of next month or as soon as possible. Of course this is my best estamate and actuall delivery times will depend on my schedule and not untill the dies are completely perfect before shipping.

Then around end of Sept or first of Oct I'll start machining all the dies on order that are not currently in stock, such as 22 cal point form and core swage dies, custom BTSniper .451, .458, .475 and .500 sets as well as some new 40 cal and 44 cal dies. Then get all these dies off to heat treat by end of Oct and that will leave me two months to polish and assemble everything with the hope to fill all current orders by Christmas. A lot of work to do but should be completly possible.

If I'm really good I'll have plans off to custom reamer shop for 7s ogive .204, 6s .243, and 6s .338 custom reamers in time to machine new dies and send to heat treat as well.

Things are busy and looking good with lots of new dies to come here at BTSniper.

Thank you all for your support and patience while I grow my business.

    Good shooting and Swage On!

Wow, the 9mm-to-.308 jacket is very cool.

So I suppose that a 9mm-to-.338 jacket set would work too.

How about this for an idea...
    > Make a 5 die set,
    - Die #1 makes .375 jackets,
    - die #2 makes .358 jackets,
    - die #3 makes .338,
    - die #4 makes .308
    - and die #5 makes .284 jackets?

I might be dreaming; but I think the concept makes sense, yes?

Everything looks good and would work up to die #5. You would probably need one more additional step between .338 and .308 since by the time you reduce that much the base is a pretty good portion of solid brass, say a .316 to .308 then trying to take it a step further to .284......... well......anything is possible, just depends on how much effort one wishes to make.

Brian, Ok, a 6 die set:
    - .375
    - .358
    - .338
    - .314 < for the Mosins and Enfields
    - .308
    - .284

So a guy buys this 6 die set, and he's pretty much set to make jackets in any common medium bore (except .323 and .318) with this one-time purchase.
Or maybe he only buys the first 2 dies, because that's where he wants to stop or maybe the first 4 dies...
And maybe in a couple of years, the guy that bought only the first 2 dies, decides that he now needs to make jacketed bullets in .308, so he just buys 3 more dies from you.
Cool concept, yes? Plus you can "mass produce" the sets so that they are more of a "stock item" rather than a special order.
(yes I realize that real "mass production" isn't what you do, was just using the term as an illustration)

Splatter, you have to realize that the sequence of dies depends 100% on what you will use for raw materials.

So, a set that is designed for making 30 cal from 9mm is NOT the same set as the one for making 30 cal from 5.7X28FN brass.

In that regard, it's not a standard set, per se. Brian will be hand making every set, per customer specification. You need to tell him what you're going to use for raw material, and what size and bullet weight range you want to end up at.

and don't forget we need to reduce the jacket atleast a few thousands smaller then desired final bullet diameter.

Hey Brian, been having a ball with the 40 one step dies I got from ya!
Don't know if you answered R. Ph. 380 offline about post #224, but I'm wondering about the cost of 45 cal HP from the 40 cal brass also?

Duke: I do realize that the set does somewhat depend on the raw material; but I'll bet that the same set that makes .30 cal jackets from 9mm could also be used to make .30 cal jackets from .30 mauser, 7.62TT, and .380 ACP

    And when I said:

    I should have said

So a guy buys this 6 die set, and he's pretty much set to make jackets from 9mm cases for any common medium bore (except .323 and .318) with this one-time purchase.

Right, and when I was listing sizes in my example, I didn't mean to make it seem like the sizes would be the diameter of the final jacket, what I'd be looking for is a jacket that I would then add to one of your kits to produce bullets, for instance, .338 jackets made from 9mmP cases then get cores added and visit the other stations/dies and after all that I have finished bullets, I wouldn't be loading/shooting empty jackets, nor would I advocate doing so.
