Oh, say it aint soo. Sad day for us old school wrestling fans. He was one of my all time favorite wrestlers when I was a child, along with Rusty Roads and a few others. RIP Macho Man!!! Who's gonna take over the slim jim commercials now?

    Macho Man

Yeah he was one of the good guys along with Buddy Colt, Mike Graham, Hero Matsuda, Sailor Art Thomas, Gorgeous George, Dusty Roads most of the old ones are gone now and to think they used to get less than 200 bucks a night to get onstage. RIP Macho Man.

I read this because I thought you were speaking about Hector. Never could digest big time wrestling.

    My Macho Man Story

My kids and I had lunch at Weylu's on Route 1 in Saugus MA (just outside Boston) about 20 or more years ago. We stopped in and sat at a table. Macho Man came in and sat next to us, and we of course, recognized him immediately. I asked him if he would like to join us for lunch, and he said "sure".
He was in Boston for a match, and he was a genuinely nice guy. He loved what he did and he loved his fans. For the next hour my son was in heaven. LUNCH WITH MACHO MAN! We got some photos and learned a lot about the wrestling world. People came up to the table and asked for autographs and pictures with him. We all took it in stride. Randy took the time to speak with everyone. He apologized to us for interrupting our lunch, but we said "no problem". It was really fun to be a part of all that, if only for one hour.
My son, now 30 years old, was genuinely saddened by his death. Sitting with a guy like Randy for lunch was a kid's dream. He never forgot it.
    RIP Macho Man.

I remember when I was a kid watching wraslin with my Grandmother when we spent the night with my dad's parents, they were first in the family to have a TV. Her two favorites were Chief Wahoo McDaniel and Dookie Ahmuka. Not sure of the spellings.

Well - we used to watch wrestling on B&W TV. WAY back. When I think of old time wrestlers, I think of Gorgeous George, Billy Vargas, Lou Thesz, Cowboy Kowalski, The Swedish Angle - guys who were wrestling when Macho was born...

One of the most endearing sights in the world is the vision of a naked good-looking woman leaving the bedroom to make breakfast. Bolivar Shagnasty (I believe that Lazarus Long also said it, but I can't find any record of it.)

I loved watching that little fellow lay the fist into the bad guys when I was growing up.

I hated Bob Backlund because he was the super goody-two-shoes but I'd cheer for him when he went up against the Iron Sheik.

Randy Savage was one of the better acts that came along in the 80s though. Very sad to read that he died just a year after finally marrying someone he loved for such a long time.
