I shoot my original Eagan 62 in 1-12" Savage 22-250 barrels down to 1900 with fine accuracy.I have shot a few groups under 1/2" with it and many under 1" even in a Stevens 200 Sporter.I have never used it in any other guns except my 1-12 Savages.I have given samples to others who have used them in 1-9's with good luck though. In the CBA Fouling Shot magazine a couple years back i had a barely readable article on shooting my Stevens 200 22-250 with cast and all of the load data.I cant seem to find the file on m computer otherwise i would post it.

Damn, how is yours casting almost .001 bigger that mine?? My first casting was out of my "lino" pot, I'm getting .2245-.225 on the bottom band and .2235-.224 on the second. I'll check and TL and try these in my 14" 222 bbl. and load to 1900 fps.and see what that brings

Tried them in my 14 twist 223 this afternoon and it is a no go. It would group a few and then one would yaw and hit at random. Running Tac #1, 15 gr 4895, sized .225, wolf SRM primer, WDWW. I might try some more 4895 in the case but my testing with this barrel showed accuracy went to pot with the NOE 22-55 after 16 gr or so.

Thinking about pulling the Ruger MK II target out of the safe for another go round with cast. I haven't had much luck with it but this boolit shows promise and the 12 twist should be just the ticket.

1 back to the drawing board & 1 Success (sorta)

I finally got a chance to try out the new mold and shoot some boolits. Not much info. on the 62gr bullet in the manuals I have so I used the 55gr min. & went up from there. I tried a Savage Axis in 22-250 w/a 1-12 twist first. Started w/IMR 4759, WLR primers, Randy's Tac#1 lube sized to .224, only lubed the first groove & gas ck, seated the boolet so the base is right at the neck & shoulder junction. Stepped out the back door and fired some rounds. I started @ about 20yds cause I just wanted to see if I'd get any leading. I have no idea on the alloy, only that it's a 14bhn according to my eyes and the Lee tester. It's a mix of ww, & 60/40, I started with ww and added the 60/40 until I started getting well filled out boolits. Temp was 700-725 according to my RCBS thermometer. They dropped @ .225 on the bottom band, cks just snapped right into place.
Only so, so results w/the 22-250, sideways boolits on a few. Didn't adjust the scope at all from where it was zero'd w/jacketed, just picked a spot & squeezed. Eash is a 3 shot group. There was no leading and a lube star at the muzzle w/each charge wt. May have to experiment w/powders to find the right node.

    The .223 was better

Tried the same boolit in the .223 w/a 1-9..much better results.

    Unique....8.5
    RX7......11.5
    IMR 4759....in the 9, 10, 10.5

All 3 shot groups, I had to look twice but it's there.
Next is to try them at 50, then out to 100. I'm pretty happy w/the .223 so far. One day I'll get a battery for the chrono & see how fast they're going.

Good to know they work ok in a 1/9 as it was the slowest twist I could get a good deal on when I bought the barrel for my AR build.
