Thread: cannelure - groove or suggestion?

    The Lee factory crimp die can be used without a a groove or cannelure. I have used it for hot loads in my .357 mag with no problems. The guy from Hawk bullets recomends it for his custom bullets too.

    Yep it will usually take more then one revolution in the cannalure tool to get a good grove.

    I use a tapered crimp on mine that are without canalures all the time, and with full power 44 mags at that. It works just fine.
    What ever crimp you use , if they dont jump crimp, they will be ok.
