    Round #3
Started with a flatness check, all with in spec. and very flat and true.
Preheated mould to the max of my thermometer 570F.
knew better but had to try to cast with it.
Filled cavities and started to wait for the sprue to set up.
1 1/2 min. latter still waiting.
Note to self - Real good indicator blocks are way to hot.
Opened mould and nose of bullet was still soft.

    Got frosty bullet this time!
Let blocks cool back down to room temp and checked for flatness.
Again with in spec. and very flat and true.
Had to clean the pins (some lead was clinging to them) from casting with it hot but
was able to use 000 steel wool.
Started to cast with a cold mould, no preheat.
First pour was almost usable, by 4th or 5th was getting good fill out and with mould
blocks up to about 280F was getting great bullets.

I feel at this time I can with confidence offer our guarantee on RG4 cavity moulds.

Will give the shop the go ahead to get the buy back in the "Q"
As soon as I get some feedback from them I will post a update.

We will use our standard size 4 cavity blocks 1 1/2"x1 1/2"x3 1/2"
We have .360" listed on the drawing.

Once again thanks to you all for putting up with me.

Good things come for those who wait. Thanks Swede for the info. Anxiously being patient.

    Question.
This is my first group buy mould. Will it come with instructions on the proper way to break the mould in?
Last thing I want to do is screw up a nice new mould!
Can't wait to get this one!
    Thanks

waco - Swede send instructions with his molds. One of the things he says to do is run it through several heat cycles about 350º & back to room temp. I use a hot plate with an old circular saw blade laid on top. It helps to have Swede's temp probe. This will be my first Brass mold from NOE although I have a bunch of Aluminum ones.

The shop has another buy on the mill now.
As soon as it is done this one goes on.
    Side note:
This buy and the 360 160Gr. WFN have grown
to over 100 moulds, most are brass.

Again thank you all for working with us to get
    this all together.

    waco
Yes we send out instructions with every mould.

    Thanks

    Swede;
Please send me the boolits you have done with the test moulds and I'll provide the group with test results from my Rossi 92. Is there anything else I can do to help?

Is it too late to get in on this group buy?
Are you offering a 4 cavity (no hollow point) PLAIN BASE?

Don't you just hate it the way Swede is taunting us with this new brass mold

The wait is still worth it.

This is like showing a kid a banana split with whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry on top and while YOURSELF taking a bite telling him/her that this is what YOU will be having for dessert NEXT Friday !

Good to see you are carefully testing the banana split to make sure it will be good for us as well !

I really look forward to my single cavity HP version !

It's been taken off the schedule.

SwedeNelson posted last week that the shop had to finish up the buy they were working on before they could start this one. Also, there are a LOT of molds to make with this one and the 360160WFN that is being run at the same time. I know that we are getting closer, but not sure how close. I am waiting just like everyone else.

    Talking

I do not care if I have to wait a little longer for this mould. What is important is how well it casts and shoots.

His past moulds are great and I am sure this will not be any different.

This is one thing I like about having too many irons in the fire, I am working with other moulds at this time and if this was in my hands now I still would have to wait to use it.

This is smelting season for me. Not too hot or too cold. I have a bucket of clip on WWs and a bucket of stick on WWs still to go. I cast with a bottom pour, so summer is fine for casting for me.

I have this bullet in the aluminum molds and could not pass up the brass, it is so much better at resisting the heat.

This bullet is some kind of GOOOOD out of my Marlin Carbine. Can't wait to see the mold.
