    Barry Darr's Lube Formula

Anyone else using Barry Darr's lube for their rifle boolits???
Thought I'd try my hand at pan lubing and like the Darr recipe for it's ease and the fact that I have supplies readily available. I would like to use it with my 13 gr. of Red Dot loads but read an opinion that parrafin wax isn't good for rifle lube.

Paraffin wax not good? Maybe for BP. Avoid petro products with BP. I think it is not as good as a carrier as beeswax, but it has a long history with rifle lubes.

I keep some around for hand lubing a bullet here and there. Seems okay, but to messy/sticky for storing bullets lubed with it.

    lubes

Paraffin is a very refined type of wax when you use the food type for canning foods. I have used it in the making of BP lubes with no ill effects. I use it to harden some lubes for the Louisiana heat. Raw types of oil products are a no no with BP but Paraffin does not have anything that causes problems as it is like mineral oil. For the light loads of Red Dot that you are using, one of the White Label Lubes would work fine if you wanted to have a good lube that is very good and inexpensive.
