    Decent Commercially Lube

I am planning to purchase and RCBS Lubrisizer and am looking for a decent all purpose lube to get started with (I don't want to overcomplicate this....yet). My first bullets will be for my 480 Ruger, but I also plan to cast for 38/357 and 44 mag eventually. I would prefer a lube that would work well in all of these calibers if possible.

    Thanks for any help.

White Lable lube. His basic lube is the NRA recommended formula: 50% Beeswax/50% Alox 2138F or 350.

In low pressure loadings, the basic lube is a bit smokey, but you're not planning on low pressure.

The lubes with Carnuba tend to be stiffer, and may need a heater to flow.

The BullShop also sells Speed Green.

These are fine people to deal with, their lubes work, and prices will be a lot lower than any others.

You also might get them to send you a sample to try. White labels BAC should also work, its IIRC, beeswax, alox and caranuba.

Bullshops new Lotak seems to be a very good one also. Try the soft version

Either White Label's BAC or Bullshops new Lotak soft . . . no heater needed!

WhiteLabel BAC. No heater unless it's really cold, runs great, not as sticky as 50/50.

For black DGL is my long time favorite, and smokeless rifle/pistol it's Flex or Javelina lube.

There are so many real good lubes like the ones menched above.

Another vote for the White Label's BAC.
I size and lube in my basement, on a Lyman 450. when the temp gets down to about 60 degrees down there , I need to use the heater, but I also needed to put the heater on a rheostat to moderate the heat. BAC doesn’t need much heat.

    At 60º I need a heater!

75º - 80º is best for me and my boolits!

Glad to hear good things about BAC since I just ordered 48 sticks a few minutes ago for my brother and myself. It usually runs about 55 or 60 in my basement so I'll learn quickly how it flows at that temperature. Thanks for the heads up.

Ya, I just ordered in a supply of the BAC. I like the good reports.

I have been working with a 45/70, and the LBT blue seemed to give a few more fliers then my home brew in the rifle.

Home brew seemed to work OK, but it was a "dump all the leftovers in a pot" batch and now I can't repeat it.

Anyway, have a new BRP mold, .462/465gr gas check and as soon as the luber runs out of the Felix sample a really nice fellow sent me, I will try the BAC.

Many lubes work, to a point, but just how well in YOUR gun AND with your boolits, is the question.

I probably have enough lube on hand at present, to out last me!

    Keep em coming!
