    147gr 9mm, any interest?

I searched high and low, coulda sworn I saw a GB a couple years ago for a 4 or 5 cav 9mm mold, ~140-150gr.

I'm interested in some heavyweights that I can run subsonic...and so far the closest thing i've found is Miha's 130gr FP

i'm not particularly savvy with mold/bullet design, so I'll leave that to the pro's....but is anyone other than me interested in a 9mm heavyweight?

Check on the vendor sponsor section. Mihec has a AL 6 banger listed. I just bought 1.

I would be interested in a 147gr 9mm in 2 or 4 cavity brass mold that drops at .358"+. Preferably with a plain base.

I'd like a mould that casts hollow points at 147 grains. I love the 147gr XTP's but hate the price. If I could get a mould that throws out as good a bullet I'd be toppin' cotton.

Jasper, you may be thinking of the NOE that took place fairly recenlty. You can check and see if they have any leftovers.

If you are content with a FN rather than a HP, you can get squared away quite nicely via AccurateMoulds without having to wait for a GB to come to fruition.

I have some 6 cav aluminum molds. They cast 147 bevel base or 140 flat base.
Profile is this one: See pictures

    LINK!

If you want one just PM me (include your e-mail address and weight).

Molds are available as we speak.

Will these size down to .356 without any problem?

I'd really like a 147g in HP, either BB or PB.

I wonder if a plain base would fit in a 9x19 case due to the length of the bullet and the web thickness.

I love that mold! It allows me to make heavy 9mm boolits.
And, I also have a SWAGE-o-mATIC press with tooling for 38 special, as a semi wad cutter. I take the boolits I cast in this mold, and lube them, and then place the lubed boolits in the swage-o-matic and reform them from the FN 9mm into a 147 grain SWC, perfect for 38 specials!

Didn't mean yours, or to imply it was a bad idea.

I was wondering about a hypothetical hollow point that would come out at 147 grains. That would probably be around 160 grains as a flat nose. I know Hornady XTP's have a boat tail and Remington Golden Sabers have a hemispherical bump on the base (at least I think it was the GS bullet I had). They may not even be designed to clear the web but I thought they were. If a boolit with the same profile were designed I wonder if you could have a plain base?

It would need to be a bevel I would imagine.

I could be done, I'm sure, as there are a few, albeit very few, who shot 160grn in 9x19mm. It may perhaps require a weaker spring.

I want one of those too, but as far as I know no one makes one yet.
