If you could find one, Cramer made a 100 gr FN GC design thats about perfect. Barring that, the various 65 and 75 gr GC designs work well. The cowboy moulds might work too, PB being a bit fussier to get shooting good.

Come to think on it, RCBS makes 100ish gr design that folks say is good.

I suppose the question is, what are your needs? Deer, varmints, target, plinking?

That's what I have, and it was pretty dismal when I tried the Lyman 258-464. It was minute of ball cap. I gave up on boolits for mine and just use j-balls in it--which is why I seldom shoot it these days.

rintinglen, might I interest you in paper patching for it? That becomes a whole new ball game with j-word performance and accuracy or better. Fun and challenging and is a good time to become philosophical about reloading but the potential outcome can be very rewarding indeed.

My goal would be small groups on paper, and the ability to make my own, instead of shooting those "other type of bullets". Speaking of that RCBS 120 gr mold, does anyone know the overall length of the boolit it drops? My rifle does not like anything over .930" long. Thanks.

My previous post was meant to be addressed to both REDBARON and rintinglen!

303Guy.....my knowlege of paper patching is limited at best. Basically I know it exists. I will examine the subject, and get back to you. Interested in accuracy more so than velocity. Hope things are well in New Zealand. Thanks.
