Will the fore stock on a 2A1 and a No. 1 Mk III interchange?
Will the fore stock on a 2A1 and a No. 1 Mk III interchange?
They should (or should be close!). They are basically identical rifles, the only real difference is the barrel/bolthead/magazine assembly. The 2A1 is in 7.62 NATO, and the Mk. III in .303, of course.

The 2nd amendment was never intended to allow private citizens to 'keep and bear arms.' If it had, there would have been wording such as 'the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. -Ken Konecki, July 27, 1992
John Galt was here.
From my experience, and I have had a few,
All the wood will fit either the 2A, or #1.
The differences are in the alignment vs caliber.
The Ishapore is a different alignment to compensate for the characteristics of the .30 cal.
The fore end wood is a slightly different shape on the outside.
The internal fit is identical, and bedding is identical.
The wood on the Smelly I like better than the Ishy, however, they both look good when refinished.
There are also 5rd magazines available from Numerich.
Thanks, fellas!
