    hey, all -

new here and it looks like a great place. was referred by waksupi.

those of you who know me, know that i am quite a fan of the lee loader. i'm looking for one in 7mm Express, otherwise known as .280 Remington. please note that this is NOT 7mm magnum.

if anyone has a line on one, let me know.

    thanks -

Greetings Ron, I'm another Lee Loader junky! I have to have one for every caliber I own or I'm just not right. Not sure why, it's just the way it is. If I travel out for a hunt, I take a baggie of powder, primers and the Lee Loader for the caliber I use. I'm sure you watch eBay for this caliber.

The only current production kit in 7mm is the 7mmRM. When I've bought a kit that has need some parts, they have been very helpful in finding what I've needed to complete the kit.

What gets me about the kits on eBay is what some people will pay for current production kits. The 45-70 is a good example, they are $17.58 at Boses and they will offer sell for $19 on the bay...

Yep, and then they pay for shipping. Go figure.

Glad you made it over here, Ron.

Some of you may remember when we were looking for a new home a couple years ago, Ron offered his Baitshopboyz page for a possible site to land on. He did a lot of tweaking to try and get things running for us, but we somehow ended up here.

So, Ron isn't really "new" to this bunch, and is a heck of a good guy.

GSPKurt, I have interest in the 12 gauge if you have one. Midway carries several of the Lee Loaders and I think I'll order one in .45-70 even though I already have dies.

    hey, everyone -

sorry about not replying sooner to all of the welcomes. for some reason, i didn't get a notification until today.

merry christmas, everyone! thanks for the kind words and the welcomes.

no update on the search for a lee loader in .280 rem (aka 7mm express). i had contacted lee, but they said that production of their loader in that chambering ended years ago. i do have an active search on eBay, but haven't seen much.

GPS Kurt - i appreciate your checking - let me know if you have one!

waksupi - thanks for referring me over here! a great bunch of guys this is!

Ranch Dog - good to see ya here, and long time no see! hope things are going well for you, especially during the holidays.

45nut - i keep eharing that if a guy had a .45 colt he wouldn't need much else. ONE OF THESE DAYS i might have to find out if that's true!

thanks again everyone, and hope you are all doing well!

No, I am sorry, I don't have a .280 Rem. I do have several others, and will post them in the Classified, if I have enough posts (I don't think I do.)

    kurt -

thanks for looking. i'll go check out the classified section because, as it turns out, i also need one in 7mm mauser (7x57) as well. i used to have one, but we just finished moving and it seems to have disappeared......

so, to change the original post a bit, i am now looking for a .280 (7mm express) AND a 7mm mauser (7x57)!

TasunkaWitko, welcome, and sorry I have no leads on Lee Loaders. We know that waksupi's Lakota name means "bead worker," what about yours? And please don't tell us that old story that goes, "my tribal name means two dogs having fun," as a Shoshone/Paiute I know said he told an awestruck hippie!

hi, curmudgeon! i think that i've seen you before and it is possible that you might ahve sent me some .30 cal cast boolits about 3 years ago. unfortunately they were lost when we moved!

i've been thinking it over and taking inventory after moving 4 times in the last three eyars and it looks like my relaoding/casting inventory is near ZERO. thinking about starting over and switching from lee loaders to the more traditional press/dies setup. if anyone finds a lee laoder in 7x57 or .280 (7mm express), please let me know, but unless one is found soon, i might be dumping the lee loader concept, much as i truly love the product.

I thought I had one in my box o' stuff, and I DID!

If you are still interested, I have a NIB, unused Lee Loader, with loading data in
"7x57 MM Mauser". It is the cardboard box model, with the "tap in" priming system, not the unitized squeezer-type primer. Box (and equipment) is in excellent condition.

How about $20 shipped, to lower 48?
