My new H and R ultra slugger won't eject shell

Brand New Ultra slugger with 15 rounds through it (5 lightfield 10 handloads)each one having to tap out shell with rod. Scratched my head for a min. then looked at the shell to see a mark on the shell. found a bur on the edge of the chamber behind the extractor. Looks like it was bumped on something before the gun was assembled at the factory. Now my question is Should I take the risk and put the fine file to it or call H and R and play phone tag and the waiting game. Good thing I sent in the owner/warranty card!!!

They are very accurate but not very easy on the wallet at 16.00 a box in my neck of the woods.

Took my half worn chainsaw chain file and nipped off the bur. Fired shell flies right out now. Lady at H and R was a total airhead. Tried to explain what was wrong.... Like I was talking to myself. Lighfields is all I used to shoot but after a few years of playing with the lyman 525 sabot I found this sight and got a lot of useful info and was able to put together a good shooting load

They arn't that bad to deal with as far as warranty. You shouldn't have to but that's beside the point... Upside is that if the trigger stinks, and you mention it, they will do a trigger job for you (or did in the past anyway). Wire a tag to the trigger guard describinng the problem and mention the trigger - so the 'smith sees it. If you call for warranty repairs be sure to ask them to send you a shipping label so you don't have to foot the bill for shipping it out.

    Good luck with it!

Good to hear its up and running right now.
The customer service dept is all different since they left Gardner MA, not sure I would buy a new one myself knowing how they handle things now.

I believe they use Cheddite hulls & Primers

Cheddite 209 primers are a touch larger than the 209 primers made in the USA

So if you used a Cheddite primer , you should be able to reload them
