Price check on these 2 please!

An old family friend asked me to sell these for him but I have no idea what the price's would be.
Any help guy's?

This first one is a nose pour , and throw's a 630 grain bullet of pure lead.
The handle's are part of the set, he spent some time fitting them to that mold.







This one is an Ideal thong type for I assume the 45-70.

The first one looks like a Hoch nose pour mould but those are not his style off handles. The second is an old Ideal Tong tool for 45/70.

I mentioned to him I had posted them on here to get an idea about their value and he seemed a little pissy about me doing that.
But time will tell.
Any link's to that Hoch mold or any site that deal's with them?

id probably be interested in the lyman 45-70 tool but im unsure of the value. if he wants to sell it shoot me a pm. i bought a .30-30 ideal loader without a mould for 50 bucks on sleazebay. not sure of the actual value of one with a mould though.

oh and do you have any specs on the first bullet? i may be interested in that as well. typically handles are brand new around 40 bucks or so iirc and the mould block depending on brand could be between 60 and 140ish brand new.

I had an early Hoch mould and it came with what appears to be the same style of handles. Mine were Lyman handles that had been machined to fit the blocks. Not hacked, but carefully machined.

No these handle's aren't a hack job but fitted.
I'll ask to make sure these are the handle's he mounted or if there was another mold.
I can measure the one's I have cast of pure lead or I can cast some up of WW metal.
There's no provision for gas check,and 3 lube groove's.

It was another set of handle's he had fitted, these handle's came mounted on these block's..
He's interested in parting with them but doesn't want to give them away.
Any idea's on what I should do?

That is an Ideal #6 tool. I have one of those that I bought with a couple of other tools, and I have no use for it, so if he doesn't want to sell, send me a PM with an offer. Mine is in better condition than that one, and the mould portion is in much better shape than that one. I don't have the deprimer as that is a separate part that usually gets lost.

The primer part of the tool will sell for as much as $50 by themselves because of the fact that they were designed with no way to attach to the main tool. They would fall out and not be discovered until loading time. Let me say this about all the Lyman and Ideal tools. The purpose was to have a way to load a few rounds when away from any source that sold loaded ammo. The molds do not have to drop many bullets before the entire tool becomes very hot to hold. Some Buffalo hunters used gloves or pieces of leather to keep the heat from burning the hands. Most ammo in those times was very cheap when compared to today's prices. You could purchase a case of 1000Winchester factory 44-40 ammo for $15.00

BUT---A months wages for an uneducated worker i. e. cowhand or buff hunter was about $30.00 a month and "found"!
