    Ruger GP100

I picked up a new GP100 today, Blue,4 inch. There are some machine marks left in the forcing cone. I am considering ordering a brass lap from Brownels to polish the marks out with. The catalog states that Ruger D.A. revolvers have a 5 degree chamfer in the forcing cone. Can you fellows that know confirm this? I don't want to change any angles, just polish out the rough spots. Thanks

I can't tell you, but my 6" GP-100 shoots just fine with no modifications.

I have a 6" stainless. The forcing cone looks terrible in regards to the machine marks. Worst looking cone in any of my revolvers.

It is also the most accurate gun I have. Easily shoots 1/2"groups with the 2x scope I have on it at 25.

I wouldn't dream of touching it to make it prettier.
