I have been running pot at about 650 with good results. I have to ladle though, can't get good boolits bottom pouring no matter what I try . Took a lot of experimenting to figure out what this mould likes - more than any other mould - but now puts out beautiful, BIG slugs !!!

For a monster like this, the mould therm is really nice !!!

I have a 2 banger Lee 440g .50 boolit - dosn't seem to care what I do, just churns out good boolits

I've read some of John Ross's data.
I was a little leary of a "Full case" of fast rifle powder...But he is right on the money.
I tried 55gr. of BLC2 with the 500gr. (468gr. actual). it was a compressed load,
posibly too compressed, next time I'd try 53gr. and 54 gr.
    it's an easy shooting load.
BUT, I also like the POP you get with 296,
I load the same boolit with 32.5 gr. of 296
Next up it the 550...which is about 510gr. actual with my alloy.
I'll probably drop to 31.5gr. of 296 for that.

That , too, was my concern ... I have been loading for 30+ years but have never load such heavy boolits in any handgun. Using so much rifle powder in a pistol makes me think!! Will give some of John's loads a try - starting out on the LOW end ... Should I have a concern about "reducing" the charges??

you should be OK, if you follow his data.
After I fired the first load of 55 gr. of BLC2
I am no longer concerned about a full case.
But, I am leary of anything much less than a full case.
    Read more from his website.
