    Beagling help

Beagled a six hole Lee mold today. A 200 gr RNFP .45. All went well. This was mt first time doing this. Only problem I had was that the heat apparently kept letting the tape adhesive loosen and the tape wouldn't stay on. Had to use three laters of tape to get desired results (diameter) but it did achieve that. Any solutions for an otherwise successful venture?

    Yep.

Take a rubber mallet, open the sprue plate and gently seat the aluminum tape by tapping on one side of the closed mould. All along it. Back the mould against a wood surface. It's easier to strike the mould properly and firmly when the handles are off.

When the tape takes on the irregularities of the air vents milled into the mould faces it stays on for me. This takes a little more pressure than using the handles, and that's where gentle use of the rubber mallet comes in.

Also, make sure the locating pins aren't standing proud and keeping the mould from closing fully. They will do that sometimes.
