problem with lee 358-158-RF and lyman 43

I have a problem with lee 358-158-RF and lyman 43 top punch. From everything I have read, the Lyman 43 is the proper punch for this bullet. When I use the Lyman 43 top punch, it does not allow me to push the bullet fully into the 358 sizer die as the diameter is too large. I am using and RCBS lube sizer 2. Any input would be appreciated.

Lyman 43 top punch is for a 40 caliber bullet. Top punch 495 is used for the Lyman 358665 which is a twin to Lee 358-158-RF.

Get an extra top punch and fill it in flush with epoxy or JB Weld to make a basic flat punch. I have one punch that I use for my flat nose 9mm, 38's, and 45's in my RCBS LAM.

A Lyman 429 will work, too, though it will leave a slight ring. The Lyman 495 is designed for a button nose wadcutter and will leave a mark, as well, if I remember correctly. Fill either of them with JB Weld and they will work better.

The Perfesser has an excellent product. If only I needed a new top punch...
