    30-30 reloading QUESTION FOR POWDER SR 7625

    Hi,i want reload 30-30- winchester,cast bullet 170 flat nose +gas check,i got the powder from IMR.. SR 7625.
    THE LYMAN cast hand book,give me the load of 5.6gr,this the first time am using this powder,is so little amount of powder,i have to use a lot of filler to filled the cartridge,is that the this powder work

    My Lyman 47th shows 6.5gr as being the "starting load" with that powder. I wouldn't use a filler, just tip the muzzle up or down consistently between shots. It may not even be sensitive to position, but would try "positioning" first.

    My Lyman Cast Bullet Handbooks also show 6.5 gr as the starting load for SR-7625 under the 311291, the 311041 and the 311407. They show 9 gr as being the "max" load. I'd suggest strating at 6.5 and wouldn't use a filler or wad either.

    No filler needed, SR-7625 is fast enough that one should not be needed.
