Does BAC Smoke more than Red Carnuba?

I shoot inside and have 1100 45 acp sized and lubed with BAC but most of the smoke may be the powder.
    I now Lube with RED

They are going to be pretty close in the amount of smoke each produces. For 45 use Clays or Bullseye for less smoke.

Hell yes. That's why I switched from BAC to Carnuba Red. Long strings of fire looked like BP out of my 45acp with 4.2grs of Red Dot/Promo and BAC on my 200gr swc.

BAC has Alox in it, and Alox tends to smoke.

I've shot both in my fav 45acp load & the CR seems less smokey. Powder choice matters.

CR is a bit less smokey in my loads. I use predominately Bullseye for my 38s and 45s.

Recently I changed my 38 special loads from a 148 WC and Orange Magic to a 158 SWC with a gas check, Carnuba red and Clays. The reduction in smoke was dramatic to say the least. At least 3/4 less smoke.

well I shot some Red with Clays and it was clean.
Problem is I have 40 pounds plus of 45acp round nose cast 1100 or so with BAC
And Dad gave me 8 pounds of old red dot
I shot 50 at the range with 4.5 red dot and they shot well.
But may melt them down and recast then lube with RED if it will clean them up.
If not much them will just load up as is

Don't melt them down, just put them in an oven at about 200* with newpaper or paper towel under them. The lube will melt out and be absorbed into the paper towel and then simply relube them.

You can put them in boiling water let it cool. The lube will float so you can recover it reuse it or use it for flux ....then just re-lube with whatever. Better than throwing it away

I did that last time since i was given some 45acp that half the hard as a rock blue lube was off of.
It left them really dark gray looking

Wonder if it is worth the trouble to change the lube or load as is with the BAC.
    Bottom line is:
Is it that much worse to breath in the BAC than the RED shooting 22 - 50 round boxes of 45acp?

I all ready have 10 boxes of Nasty old PB Dupont rounds left my lungs may not like me anymore

I would just shoot them up. I was at the range this past Sunday and the guy next to me was shooting 44 loads with 50/50 lube. Aaahhh, the smell of Alox in the morning...

I'm with Doby45. Sometimes I find a bargain in a gun shop on old cast lubed boolits and I cook the lube off to use my own. I have an old aluminum tray that I use. Three layers of paper towel and 200 degrees for about 15 minutes and its all off. Lay them down, it works better.

Use the RED with Clays powder for very little to no smoke.

Bullseye and Unique are smoky, dirty powders, but the accuracy is results. Both will smoke profusely with LLA or Alox content lube. There is still smoke with CR but not as much. One time there were three of us shooting .38's with LLA boolits in an indoor match. The combo of LLA and Bullseye made the range look like the Civil War from the acrid smoke.

I use a lot of Bullseye and Unique in .38's and .45 ACP.
