All of the HP molds will come with both sets of HP pins standard and when reversed they will make FPs. The only reason for the 6 cavity FP only is for those of us that will be shooting a lot of these and dont want to spend a lot of time casting them.

I don't know much about gas check boolits - just that it is another step.

What would happen if shot with out the GC? leading, inaccuracy?
I know alloy makes a huge difference, but in general - same alloy, same velocity, boolit with GC cut and no actual gas check; and without gas check cut - whats the difference ?

You can push a gc boolit faster than a pb boolit.A pb boolit shot at higher preasures will deform the base and lead to inaccuracy. The advantages to a pb boolit is it shoots smoother and does not kick as hard, is cheaper and quicker to produce and make great plinking boolits. As with all just make sure your alloy is not to soft or too hard and your bore is clean to prevent leading. Just remember that there are other factors at play here also.

Sized right........ with the correct blend on the alloy........ with the right lube......... and gas checked................ I fired 1,000 rounds through my 500 magnum, without cleaning, and had NO LEAD FOULING whatsoever. Smoky waxy coating over the gun, but no evidence of lead in the bore.

I doubt that I could have done that many in a row without the gas check, and had the same results.

That's 29 molds so far. Counting the 6 cavity molds.

Are you SURE he's doing a 6 cavity mold in this size bullet?????
