Anyone tried this? I'd like to give the Lyman 457124 (400gr RN) a try in my Pedersoli RB over a "Trapdoor" load of IMR4198 but haven't got any "naked" boolits on hand. What I do have is a tray of "as cast" that have been pan-lubed with Emmert's and, rather than melt the lube off and run some thru my Lyman 450, I'm wondering if there's a reason I can't just go with what I've got.

, It was for this purpose (using smokeless loads) that his lube was developed. Later, folks tried it in their BP cartridge rifles, etc, and folks found out it worked really well there too. When I am not using one of the immortal Charlie Dell's lubes or my own proprietary Frog Guano lube, and especially if I am pan lubing a limited number of bullets (say, 150 or so) Emmert's is my "go to" lube for about any powder. YMMV, but "works for me!"
