    Ahhh!...Women and Springfields!

Looks like Yanqui uniforms to me........and that girl standing next to the sergeant (?) looks like she's all of twelve.

Just a group of gentle, delicate damsels......practicing their second amendment rights. You can almost hear the rustle of taffeta.

Scares me, and I'm not afraid of nothin'!!

Edit: That's no sergeant........just noticed the shoulder boards.

Lord, H' Mercy! If those gals were in Moslem Heaven, there'll be a lot of suiciders clawing their way back!

But I was born too late! I'd come courting on each and every one of them, if I had to turn Morman! Any idea at all of the source of that photo? I'd love to find more like it. I'm going to frame that one and put it on the wall of my den!
    Regards,

    Molly

here is a link to some additonal info on the civil war era.

I think that picture is on the cover of the book by Dick Hall. Look down the page you will see it.

    Frontloaders or trapdoors?
Paper targets aren't your friends. They won't lie for you and they don't care if your feelings get hurt.

If you look closely, the rifles appear to be late model 1873 Springfields, there are breech blocks, hinges, and late model 1873 rear sights visable...If you can get past drooling over those well turned ankles!

    RE-UP!

Nope, I did my 30, but if those ladies were in my unit I wouldn't have been complaining as much.
