If this mold has a hollow point, would the pin be reversible to make a solid as well? Just wondering.

So you'd lose the rounded nose, but just a little as the pin is likely pretty narrow. I'm pondering a single cavity HP is why I ask.

I'll try that. Perhaps he'll weigh in, anyway, as it might be of general interest.

    sffar,

Getting a single cavity HP will allow you to cast faster with your multi cavity non-HP mould since you won't be taking out and reinserting the pin. I did this with the NOE 225 70Gr RN. I bought a 4 cavity and a single cavity with HP pin. The only down side is the cost of buying 2 moulds. I'm sure Swede won't mind if you get two.

That's sort of what I'm thinking. Probably prefer using one bullet over the other if the mold made both styles. If I prefer the HP I end up casting a bunch of unneeded solids. I'm not all that keen on a mixed cavity mold. I'm thinking of one the single or the triple, though, and not both. I doubt I'll be casting all that many of these, and I'd kind of like the hollow point idea, especially if it produces the full profile solid as well. I'd feel like the bases were pretty well covered.
So many decisions, and Swede is prolific with the nice designs!

Swede got back to me concerning the pins.

"The HP pin will make a HP and a FN bullet.
The pin is not formed for a RN."

Think I'm going to stick with my 3 cavity for ease of casting and the round profile.

I'm going to have to drop out on this one.
You had me down for a 2C.

The aluminum won't hold up on the MasterCaster.

    I found an iron mould.

    Good casting.
