Thread: Remington Spartan Single Shot 7.62x39

    I have one of these, but it's made by Baikal.

    I mounted a standard 4" Weaver base by drilling and tapping into the integral scope base. Use low rings and you're good to go with a solid base and adequate distance between rings.

    Mine has a generous throat and leade.

    I think they're all built by Baikal. The ones I've seen aren't very pretty but they're built like a tank... Typical Ruski manufacturing

    EAA will be importing them again, they are listed in their 2011 catalog. Only 4 calibers, but 7.62x39 is one of them.

    I was just talking to a 'smith today about this exact re-chambering job. His main concern is that the plating might erode rather quickly at the margin of the plated/not plated junction in the new throat.

    Do you have any more information about this rifle?
